This is the first piece I had done in the collection of female portaits depicting different beauty standards of women in different cultures.

I wanted to experiment with a rich skin tone and natural African hair texture. I wanted to keep her face raw and mildly manicured to show her elegance through mere existence. I wanted to stay authentic to African-style face markings which are often times done with our fingers; so, I used my finger and acrylic white paint to give her some accentuating markings.
